I think its been close to a year since I have posted anything here. I haven't disappeared, I have just relocated. I realize my neglect at not directing this blog to my new website and blog address, however I apologize to those that have followed my blog and I am doing it now. After a long and busy summer...

I have finally settled down in Ladera Ranch, California. It is sunny and beautiful and time to get back to work. I have been so lucky this summer, traveling to England, Italy, Lake Powell, Arizona, and of course one of my favorite states, Utah, but I am grateful for a few moments (weeks really) to take a deep breath and work on photography. Thank you to everyone who has helped us move, played with us, and had patience with me as I have taken forever to get their work done.

September seems like a great time to start new, so I am feeling pretty good. These first images I am posting today come from a fantastic trip out to the beautiful Lake Powell. Heaven Blessed Exhibit

I just wanted to say thank you one more time to those of you that showed me so much support with my BFA show. It was a lot of work, and thanks to the help of so many of you, I believe it was a huge success! I was sad to bring it down, but I suppose that's how galleries work. BFA Final Show!

Hey everyone. So it has been awhile since I have blogged, which I suppose is nothing new. I have been swamped with my show that is going up in the B.F. Larsen Gallery in the Harris Fine Art Center at BYU. There will be a reception for it on March 6th (happy birthday Jessica) from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. I would love to have everyone there so if you can make the trip, it would mean a lot to me.

The Three Little Girls

My baby sister Lizzie and her two cousins. They were all born within a month or so of each other, and for the rest of their lives I am pretty sure they will be referred to as the little girls. They are the youngest in all three of their families and we love them to death. Pretty girls huh?

These are some of the images that I have been working on with the Palladium Process. It is a printing process that involves palladium metal and a whole lot of other things that I find really cool. The images look better in print, because part of the magic of this process is how incredible the print quality is, but here you have them in the blog form.

Over the fourth, I photographed some of uncle's and grandpa's horses. It was fun and proved to be pretty challenging. I only had a few minutes and would love to spend some more time with them. Chief ( in the black and white ), as it turns out, is a total camera hog. He also likes to get a little up close and personal and enjoys fogging up my lens. Cheyene on the other hand (the dark grey), does not appreciate a camera pointed towards her.

Kanosh is an exit off the I15 somewhere in Southern Utah. Ian and I drove past it and there is seriously not anything around. Its beautiful though.

It has been said, that of all the places in Jerusalem, these steps here were walked by Christ. I thought the scriptures were fitting considering the significance of a place such as this. I was able to walk where Jesus walked.

This is a shot from when we went to visit the Western Wall. Our guide was really sweet and full of interesting information about it.

In Petra, they have a really cool ancient aqueduct system that makes for a great photograph.

Mosaic Tile Women

While we were in Jordan, we visited a shop where these gorgeous mosaic tile pieces were made. They would put the mosaics on the wall, on tables, on boxes, etc. It was actually really remarkable. The craziest thing, is that as you walk in, there are women making these mosaics right in front of you. They say it takes them sometimes up to four months to make one of them. They have these colored stones that they cut then glue. I asked the one of them if she liked doing it. She said yes, but it hurts her hands and her back because they do it all day everyday.

We had the chance to read the Sermon on the Mount and look over the Sea of Galilee one night. We sat on the Mount of Beatitudes; it was a really neat moment for me.

Petra is a beautiful place. The colors were absolutely fantastic. The light was breathtaking as well.

The people are interesting as well. Some of them still live in the caves of Petra.
